Restaurants and their workers helped get us through the last year. The Journal wants to hear about the ones closest to your heart and share your appreciation in the upcoming Menu of Menus. Shout out your gratitude, letting us know which restaurant meant the most to you with a brief explanation of why in the comments or by emailing jennifer@northcoastjournal.com, and it might end up in print. So, Humboldt, who do you love?

2020 without a doubt was a rough year for everyone on many different levels. Having local restaurants, also barely surviving by the skin on their teeth, stay open and serve our community was a game changer for many including me! I stuck to Arcata as it is my home town and it has everything I need to survive. I enjoy cooking but even that gets tiresome and repetitious. That being said the following is my list of go tos during the lock-down.
1. The Sushi Spot: Once a week and always Spot On! pun intended.
2. Big Island Kine: Yummy!
3. Hole in the Wall: Fridays for the win, Crab Sammie!
4. Murphys Market Sunny Brae: Their ready to cook chicken burgers at the meat counter are so darn delish and saved the day so many times I cant even count. Always something there to make a meal of. Thank you Arcata! ShawnaT
