Poem escapes
was one brilliant moment
can’t recollect
art show
just want to share
was no show
appointment
oh Humboldt oh hum county
went to vigil
and wept
trying to imagine
saffron silk
like butterfly wings
enveloping mother
family, friends and community
trying to make sense of it all
this bright star loss
did not escape me
