Take us out to the ballgame. Please! Our Humboldt Crabs return to host the Lincoln Potters for a three-game series that kicks off Friday, June 4 at Arcata Ball Park. While Friday’s game is totally sold out and bleacher seats are sold out for the remaining two games, there are still (pod) spots on the grass for the June 5 and June 6 games at this time. Tickets for this series and for games through June 13 are available online only at https://humboldtcrabs.com. Get them while you can.
If taking laps around an oval rather than a diamond is your thing, truck over to the Redwood Acres Racetrack for Redwood Acres Stock Car Races on Saturday, June 5 at 5 p.m. ($12). Expect to see late models, legends, mini stocks, bombers, roadrunners and modifieds. Grandstand opens at 4 p.m.

I hope my vaccination works! I went to the Crabs game Saturday night, and masks were definitely optional. I wore mine, but if I’m vaccinated do I need to worry? All the cheering and meeting and greeting sure was fun….but, what if one of the unmasked people shares more than fun times? Shouldn’t we require vaccinations to attend Crabs games? It would allow the franchise to pack the stands again, and we could all enjoy the Crab Grass Band.
