On Saturday, May 20, in the frenzied lead-up to the even more frenzied Kinetic Grand Championship, a new Rutabaga Queen has once again ascended to her throne at the annual Rutabaga Ball. The Bayside Grange was the setting for a glitter bomb of grandeur as aspiring queens competed in talent, Q&A, Ball Gown and Bay Crossing. In the end, Countess Kaleidoscope was victorious, winning the 2017 Rutabaga Queen crown, which comes with a lifetime appointment and reign over this years kinetic sculpture race.
