One day after the Eureka Recycling Center reopened its CRV buyback service, the response has been overwhelming and impacting Broadway Street.

According to the Humboldt Waste Management Authority, the city is temporarily detouring customers onto Del Norte Street to Felt Street and then to W. Hawthorne Street due to the backups.

A news release states the average wait time is one to two hours. Face coverings are required at the center and HWMA is encouraging those looking to use the service to presort their recyclables before arriving.
