Crowds Shutdown CRV Buybacks

The Humboldt Waste Management Authority is closing down CRV buyback services at its Eureka Recycling Center, which just began Tuesday, until further notice due to an overwhelming demand.
Within a day of reopening, traffic began backing up on Broadway Street, prompting the city to set up temporary detours and wait times were one to two hours.

"Closure is necessary due to traffic congestion, safety issues to businesses, lack of emergency access and difficulty of trash customers, contractors and franchise haulers able to access the Transfer Station," a news release states.
