CAL FIRE Humboldt–Del Norte Unit announces a newly installed auxiliary helicopter dip site at the Willow Glenn Landing Zone in Shelter Cove.

The 2,000-gallon heli-tank, installed by the Shelter Cove Fire Department, provides an additional water source for firefighting helicopters, helping reduce turnaround times and strengthen initial attack capabilities in an area where coastal weather and challenging terrain can impact wildfire response.

This collaborative effort highlights the importance of improving local firefighting resources and enhancing community protection.

For additional information regarding this project, please contact the Shelter Cove Fire Department Public Information Officer at (707) 986-7507 or by email at SCFD@sheltercove-ca.gov.
