Great update on the hunger strike at Pelican Bay (“Blog Jammin’,” July 11). I hope all those guys starve to death. I was especially touched by their perceived lack of due process. How many of their victims did they deprive of due process (not to mention their lives)?

Inmates at Pelican Bay are not there because they picked wildflowers at some native preserve.

  1. We deprive due process from one you deprive it from us all, that includes you, Ms. Dodd. FYI, most men in PBSP SHU are there for nonviolent crimes. Often times informants, trying to get out of SHU, have alleged they are street gang members, making them prison gang associates. There is no proof or due process and you and I are paying the cost for this. Eliminate SHU’s… save billions. If not for humanity, for your pocket book Ms. Dodd.

  2. We cannot as a society resort to torture of those we incarcerate and still claim the right to imprison.
