Much appreciated Bob Doran’s video of us at Moonbeam Beach, he continually asking “Why are we here?” And getting back all sorts of answers about folks not wanting any more off shore drilling.
Sports fans fondly remember Kevin Kostner’s film about this Iowa farmer who hears a voice that says” If you build it and they will come”
“Yep… and how we also came to Hands Across The Sand, because we just might be hearing a small voice within that says: “If you use it they will drill.”
Just how did all those people get to the beach?……car?
Jack…give your own intelligence some credit. Mine too please. Humans know humans pretty well…it’s a built in kinda thing. The message isn’t “if you use it they will drill” but “if they stop drilling they’ll have to do something else.” In practice it would have to be more like “if they have to stop drilling they’ll have to do something else.” You tell me which works…everybody else knows. Nobody’s expecting you to give up electricity and hot running water. We’re all just paying our little bills in our little lives, sans billion dollar backyard oil wells.
The people are not to blame.
