Our own Andrew Goff noticed these tropically clad worshipers singing and praying in front of the county courthouse this morning and stopped to inquire about the occasion. A friendly disciple informed him that the group had gathered on this eighth anniversary of 9/11, with Old Glories and a wooden cross in tow, to pray for protection from another terrorist attack.

  1. Gee, i wonder if they spared any prayers for the millions of innocent Iraqis who have had to endure a 9/11 every day for the past eight years. My guess is no. It’s only terror when it’s Westerners that die, the rest, meh, let God sort’em out.

    The poster is one of those "Americans" who cringes whenever our flag is displayed. Jesus also induces cringing.

  4. What makes me cringe, is people who conflate Jesus and America. I’m also not too keen on people who are pious in public.

  5. It’s the American flags that get me. Please God, protect our country and nevermind about the rest of the world.

    Flags have no place in a religious ceremony unless one’s view is that God plays favorites.
