On the Road with Jerry: Did anyone watch the PBS program Nature last night? Apparently it tells the somewhat strange story of Eureka resident (and sometime Times-Standard columnist) René Agredano, who sold her business and traveled cross-country to give her dying dog one last hurrah. Interview at the link, with video available. The program will be repeated throughout the week on KEET, including a showing at 6 p.m.

Hi Hank,
Hoping to catch your attention here. I just added this new Blogthing to my Google Reader.
But this wasn’t easy. At first, I found I was subscribed to the Comments – only.
I could fix this only by doing something ‘technical’, and that’s not what you want.
The answer is to have your web developer change the order of the RSS ‘link’ lines within each web/blog page. The main weblog RSS needs to come first.
Anyway, congratulations on embedding your weblog with the paper. North Coast Journal is a very valuable resource, I think, locally — and also for those of us who started our lives there in Humboldt, and like to look to home after the many years.

Narration
Yeah, the PBS Nature show was awesome, and this episode featured our very own Jim Nelson and Rene Agredano who are on an extended road trip, initiated by the illness of their dog, Jerry.
Check out their blog at:

Narration: OK, done. Thanks for the feedback.
Hi Hank, thanks for mentioning the show. But I really don’t think our story is all that strange. . .
Jerry’s story is symbolic of the lengths that lots of animal lovers will go to give their fur kids the best life they can. Whether it’s hitting the road with them, or just opening their hearts to the gifts they have to share, the universe is a better place when we give our pets the respect and love they deserve.
Thanks again. Hope everyone in Humboldt enjoys the show.
…and looking good.
Best,
Narration
