Why hasn’t the North Coast Journal ever reported the fraud, waste, and abuse of the incompetence of the County of Humboldt Public Works Department? They have known since 2016 the fundamental cause for Marcia Kitchen hitting and killing her daughter and Faith Tsnarv was due to the County of Humboldt’s failure to adhere to the $500,000 State Transportation Improvement Grant they received from the Caltrans District 01 District Local Assistance Engineer to “rehabilitate” Eel River Drive. That grand demanded the County to IMPROVE the road to current design standards: A full 40-foot paved width with two 12-foot traffic lanes and two 8-foot paved shoulders.
But the incompetent County Public Works replaced a beat crap 22-foot wide roadway with a smooth as a baby’s butt 22-foot paved roadway. But every news source here on the North Coast have failed to report these facts I presented to them nearly 10 years ago.
Shame on you North Coast Journal.
