State Route 36 closed this morning near Pepperwood Falls east of Swain’s Flat Outpost after a tree fell into utility lines and brought them down across the roadway. The first report came in about 7:40 a.m.

Myles Cochrane, spokesperson for Caltrans told Redheaded Blackbelt just before 9 a.m., that the roadway is closed at mile marker 20.5. “Dispatch indicates a telephone pole and lines are down with an estimated time of opening in an hour to an hour-and-a-half,” he said.

According to the PG&E outage map, about 25 residences are without power following the incident.
