Trinidad Planning Commissioner Sam Pennisi has submitted his resignation to that body in the wake of controversy and outrage that followed the illegal tree and brush clearing of sensitive tribal land that blocked the view from his property.

The succinct letter reads as follows:

Dear Councilmembers;

Please accept this letter as my resignation from the Planning Commission. I wish the Council and the Commission well in their future endeavors.

Sincerely;

Sam Pennisi
Trinidad

  1. That seems like a good first step, any follow up on if the county will hold them liable for the destruction of Tsurai property, or do Trinidad homeowners get free passes?

  2. Hows about All the lawsuits and all the victims. How bout boarding up their windows–they still are laughing down their noses at the city clerk who obstructed justice by NOT calling the police while they languish in their unimpeded sunsets and hows about the liable and slander lawsuits brought on by victim Tom Head of Coastal Tree Service against the lying Pennisis who said they told him “keep going further, keep going further” is what several witnesses heard from Sharon the Ferrett as they continued to quiz her on how far to continue denuting the old Indian cemetary which she knew well as did her husband the planning committe man. Mr know it all. He’ll die paying settlements for this henous crime against the natives.

  3. Call it like it is- it’s a clear-cut. The same thing that Green Diamond, SPI and HRC get away with on a massive scale every freaking day.

  4. Sam Pennisi and Sharon Ferrett should do us all a favor and move out of town. I sure hope I don’t have to run into either of them, because I will not have nice things to say to either one of them for what they did to the Tsurai Ancestral village site, for ruining a public hiking trail and for butchering our coastal resources.

    Oh yeah, adding insult to injury, their blowhard lawyer hadn’t even visited the clear-cut site before he spoke at the last City Council meeting in July–telling the Council and public that the clear-cut was no big deal and would green up and that no one feels worse than the Pennisis about what happened on that bluff.

    What a crock–you are the sort of lawyer that gives good lawyers a bad name. The only thing Pennisi/Ferrett are sorry about is that they got caught. And, the reason their lawyer is protesting the cost of LACO’s report ($4,500) is that his clients will likely have to pay for it. Hey, Windbag Lawyer, I’d like to know how much your hourly rate is and what your retainer was? I bet it’s a heck of a lot more than $4,500.
