Just before 4 p.m., Cal Fire dispatched aircraft and firefighters to a fire on the east side of Hwy 101 in the Benbow area. According to the person who provided us with the photo above. The fire is near Red Rock Road below the Rockpit.
UPDATE 4:12 p.m.: One of the Cal Fire planes has been released which is usually a good sign that firefighters believe they will get this under control quickly.
UPDATE 4:21 p.m.: Photo provided by a local resident, Britney Harrison, shows the smoke getting black again.
