The Redwood Coast Mountain Bike Association (RCMBA) has donated a CMC Mule rescue litter wheel to the Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department to support search and rescue operations and other community emergency needs.

The CMC Mule litter wheel is designed to reduce the physical burden on emergency responders during patient transport in difficult terrain. While the equipment will be helpful for incidents at the Hatchery Ridge Mountain Bike Trails in Blue Lake, it is not specific to mountain biking and can be used for any search and rescue operation or community need, including responses involving hikers, runners, equestrians, residents, or visitors in hard-to-access areas.

RCMBA is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to trail stewardship, outdoor recreation, and strong community partnerships. The Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department serves the Blue Lake community and surrounding areas through the dedication of its volunteer members. This donation reflects a long-standing and positive relationship between RCMBA and the Blue Lake community, and represents one way RCMBA is giving back in a meaningful, practical way that supports local needs.

By providing this equipment, RCMBA aims to enhance the Blue Lake Volunteer Fire Department’s ability to safely and efficiently care for injured individuals during search and rescue operations and other community responses. RCMBA is proud to support the department and grateful for the opportunity to further strengthen this valued partnership.
