Humboldt Sponsors will announce its newly selected 2026 grant recipients at its Annual Grants Reception on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at the Morris Graves Museum of Art, 636 F Street in Eureka, from 2:30 p.m.-4:30 p.m. The public is invited to attend.

Humboldt Sponsors, a local nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to raising funds solely to benefit Humboldt County youth, awards numerous grants each year in April to local nonprofit, youth-related programs and organizations through a strict annual application and selection process. This year, the organization received a record 108 applications and was able to distribute a total of $104,437 among 91 individual grants, bringing the overall total of grant funding awarded locally since 1971 to $3,144,440.

“We would love for community members to join us in honoring these very deserving recipients,” stated Humboldt Sponsors President Amy Hunt. “The grants reception is a wonderfully uplifting event, as we get to hear from the grantees directly about their programs and the impact the grants will have on the children they serve. This is the best part of our year and reflects all the good things Humboldt Sponsors does for local kids.”

The individual grants awarded by Humboldt Sponsors support many diverse youth activities and programs in Humboldt County, such as scholarships and camperships for educational, recreational, and cultural enrichment activities and youth leadership projects. In addition, Humboldt Sponsors’ grants assist youth-oriented programs that provide basic needs.

“We are able to support most of our grant requests with the proceeds from our fundraising events throughout the year,” stated Linda Dionne, grants chairperson. “We are also extremely grateful for the many generous donations we receive from our local community and business partners, along with our associate member dues that always go directly into our grant fund every year.”
