Eureka Elks Lodge #652 and Boys & Girls Club of the Redwoods are proud to announce another successful partnership benefiting local youth.

Through the dedication and generosity of Elks members, significant improvements have been completed at the Clubhouse in Eureka, serving children in kindergarten through 6th grade. What began as the lodge’s primary community improvement project of the year has now resulted in a fully revitalized and welcoming space for youth.

The project was completed in two phases. The first phase included new cubbies, fresh paint, upgraded library space, installation of window screens, and improvements to the children’s restroom, including a hot water heater. The second phase focused on remodeling the kitchen with new cabinets, the addition of a dishwasher, and other enhancements to better serve daily programming needs.

What started as a modest upgrade grew into a project exceeding $12,000—made possible through generous contributions from local businesses, lodge members, and a $4,000 grant from the Elks National Foundation.

This effort highlights the power of community collaboration. Together, volunteers, donors, and partners have created a safer, more functional environment where children can learn, grow, and thrive.

Special thanks go to the many local businesses who contributed, including Shafer’s Ace Hardware, Forbusco Lumber and Building Supplies, Kennan Plumbing Supply, Ken Fleck Plumbing, Pierson Building Supply, and Powell Landscape Material.

Deep appreciation is also extended to the Elks members and families who generously donated, as well as the dedicated volunteers whose time and effort made this transformation possible.

Heartfelt thanks go to Project Chairman Jack Harris for his leadership and commitment in bringing this vision to life.
