Correction

Last week’s “Stage Matters” misidentified a play’s author. Adam Long co-developed The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) [Revised].

Due to an editing error, “And They’re Off” in the March 13, 2014 edition of the Journal contained inaccurate information. Fourth District Humboldt County Supervisor Virginia Bass is the former manager of the Eureka restaurant O-H’s Townhouse, which was owned by her parents. The Journal regrets the error.

Last week’s “Week in Weed” contained an inaccuracy: A quote attributed to Brett McFarland should have been attributed to his brother. The story has been corrected online.

Last week’s cover “Red Gold and Greenwashing” contained an error. Humboldt County produced 220,000 MBF (1 MBF = 1,000 board feet) — more than 200 million board feet — in 2012.

In “Picketing for Help” (March 21), the Journal incorrectly identified the party trying to recruit another nephrologist to the Humboldt region. The recruiting is being done by Dr. Allen Mathew of Redwood Renal Associates, but not by St. Joseph Hospital.

  Last week’s cover article, “River Robbery,” incorrectly reported 2009 winter flows on the Eel River. The correct figure is 20,000 cubic feet per second.

In last week’s cover story, 4th District Humboldt County Supervisor Virginia Bass was misidentified by her previous title.   [][][] Last week’s article on the Navy’s Northwest Training Range Complex (“Navy Bounces Sonar off Public”) misstated the complex’s size. The complex covers 122,400 square nautical miles, equivalent to almost 162,000 square statute — or land-based — miles. […]

“Concrete Activists” in last week’s Journal incorrectly identified the agency whose employee struck a protester with his baton. The episode involved a Humboldt County Sheriff’s deputy.

Correction: The “Fieldnotes” column in last week’s Journal inadvertently used the wrong term for the neutrally charged particle in an atom’s nucleus. It is a neutron.

Last week’s printed Seven-O-Heaven incorrectly indicated “Ctrl-P” as the “paste” keyboard shortcut. The correct way to steal the Times-Standard’s online content is use “Ctrl-V.” The Journal is mega-bummed about the error.

A report online and reprinted in last week’s Journal overstated the degree of knowledge that City Manager David Tyson had regarding the identity of the new tenant at the Bayshore Mall. The report should have read: But some people who may be able to confirm the identity of the tenant can’t talk. Tyson said he […]

In last week’s McKinleyville Arts Night listings, a painting of sunflowers was erroneously attached to artist Susan Fox; in fact, the painting was by artist Susan Harper.
