Jontavious Willis, whose band opened Friday’s blues sets at the Eureka Theater, also offered a Saturday Folk School blues guitar workshop. The 24-year-old singer and musician was nominated for a Grammy in 2020 for his album Spectacular Class. -
Deke Dickerson and the Whippersnappers brought their high energy hillbilly, rockabilly and vintage style country to play multiple sets, including a tribute to country music guitar legend Merle Travis on Friday evening. -
Gino Meregillano and the Lone Gunmen were busy on Saturday with their first set at 3 p.m. at the Veterans Memorial Building, followed by the opening outdoor set at the Gazebo at 5:30 p.m. and ending with a final set at the Eagle House at 9 p.m. -
Saturday’s Folk School collaboration with the Humboldt Folklife Society included this Western Swing Rhythm Guitar workshop with Joey McKenzie of The Western Flyers. -
They had to expand the Adorni Center performance stage for the Cadillac Ranch addition of The Roadside Attraction for a special show on Saturday afternoon. Cadillac Ranch is one of Humboldt County’s longest running country/Americana bands and its members include Pat Comella – vocals, mandolin, Liz Whitchurch – vocals, keyboards, Jake Wiegandt – vocals, guitar, Rick Levin – vocals, guitar, Jes Bishop- drums and Ron Sharp- vocals, bass. Members of The Roadside Attraction include Josh Foster – trombone, Amanda Piscitelli – tenor sax, Melissa Cherry – clarinet, Kaeden Williams – alto sax, Drake Newell – baritone sax, and Sara Fine – trumpet. -

Saturday night’s Arts Alive! saw the return of festival headliner bands on a stage at the Old Town Gazebo starting with Gino and the Lone Gunmen followed by Two Tone Steiny and The Cadillacs with Danny Sandoval. The Navy Band Northwest New Orleans Brass Band closed out the night with its New Orleans funk, rhythm and blues, jazz and soul. -

Harmonica player Mark “Steiny” Steinmetz made a return visit to the Redwood Coast Music Festival with his band, Two Tone Steiny and the Cadillacs. They were joined by the powerful saxophone of Danny Sandoval on the outdoor stage at the Old Town Gazebo for a set on Saturday evening. -
Rhythm guitarist Joey McKenzie of The Western Flyers and guests Redd Volkeart and White Smith helped close out Sunday afternoon at the Adorni Center with an amazing set of Texas Bob Wills-style swing. Grammy winner and guitar-playing legend Volkaert is known as one of the greatest Telecaster guitar players in history. Smith is a guitarist, singer, songwriter and founding member of the Austin-based Western swing trio , Hot Club of Cowtown. The Western Flyers also featured 21-year-old Texan Ridge Roberts (in background) who has already won three National Fiddle championships and two Grand National fiddle titles. -
