Humboldt County Public Health reported the 136th local COVID-19 death today — of a resident in their 70s.

This marks the county's 14th COVID-19 death of 2022.

Public Health also reported three new hospitalizations today. According to a state database, 23 people are currently hospitalized with the virus locally, including four under intensive care.

Today, public health updated its weekly rates of hospitalizations and deaths for both unvaccinated and fully vaccinated residents, noting that both rates are 300-percent higher for unvaccinated residents compared to their fully vaccinated counterparts.
