FOURTH UPDATE: Death Investigation at the Bear River Rancheria

FOURTH UPDATE:

An 18-year-old has been arrested in Utah on suspicion of murder in the deaths of three people at a home on the Bear River Band of the Rohnerville Rancheria Reservation. Loleta resident Mauricio Eduardo Johnson is being held on a no-bail warrant. For more information on the arrest, click here.


THIRD UPDATE:

The victims have been identified as Nikki Dion Metcalf, 40, Margarett Lee Moon, 40, and Shelly Autumn Mae Moon, 16, Two other juveniles who were in the home were not physically injured and have been placed in safe custody, according to the sheriff’s office. SECOND UPDATE:

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office reports there is no suspect information currently available in connection to the deaths of three individuals at the Bear River Rancheria.

"Investigation is still ongoing on Carroll Road," the latest update states. "Manner and cause of death, ages and identities of the victims have not been confirmed at this time. No suspect information is available. We will update when we know more."

UPDATE:

The Humboldt County Sheriff's Office reports the third individual who was taken to the hospital has died of their injuries. No ages has been confirmed at this time but law enforcement said the scene involved one man and two women.

"Investigation is ongoing." the update states. "Please respect Tribal Sovereignty and avoid the area unless you live here."

PREVIOUS:
The  Humboldt County Major Crimes Task Force is on scene in the 200 block of Carroll Road on the Bear River Rancheria where two people have been found dead and another was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

According to a Facebook post, the investigation is active and entrance to the reservation has been restricted by the tribe to residents. More information is expected to be released later today.
