Local Municipal Buildings Closing and Reducing Hours Due to COVID-19 Cases Increases

Rio Dell City Hall and the Humboldt County Superior Court clerk's office lobby are reducing their hours and closing in-person services due to the county's increases in COVID-19 cases.

Beginning on Monday, Dec. 14, Rio Dell City Hall will be reducing its hours for bill pay and other over‐the‐counter services. The new hours are 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. These hours will last through the duration of Humboldt County’s placement in the state's "widespread" (purple) tier for COVID‐19 risk assessment. All other services (permits and other staff meetings) will need to be arranged beforehand and are by appointment only.

At the same time, the Humboldt Superior Court Clerk’s Office Lobby is
ordered closed for walk-in service.

According to a release documents can be filed in the drop box located next to the
Clerk’s Office on I Street or be sent by mail to 421 I St., Eureka, CA 95501.

Clerk’s Office staff will continue to be available via phone and email and will continue to process all filings within statutory guidelines.

Temporary Reduction in Rio Dell City Hall Open Hours

These hours will last through the duration of Humboldt County’s placement at the Purple Tier for COVID‐19 activity. All other services (permits and other staff meetings) will need to be arranged beforehand and are by appointment only. 

Customers using the City Hall lobby will need enter the lobby one at a time, wear a mask and use hand sanitizer.  Please exercise extreme caution by mask wearing, hand washing and social distancing as these are the best methods to keep the community and our businesses open.

Customers will still be able to use online bill pay located on the city’s website www.cityofriodell.ca.gov or can call the City Hall (707) 764‐3532. 

COURT CLERK’S OFFICE CLOSURE DUE TO CORONAVIRUS (COVID-19)

Effective Monday, December 14, 2020 through Tuesday, January 19, 2021, pursuant to Judicial Administrative Order No. 2020-014, the Humboldt Superior Court Clerk’s Office Lobby is ordered closed for walk-in service.

Documents can be filed in the drop box located next to the Clerk’s Office on “I” Street or be sent by mail to 421 “I” Street, Eureka, CA 95501. Clerk’s Office staff will continue to be available via phone and email and will continue to process all filings within statutory guidelines.
