Suspect Sought After Arcata Assault

CPR is in progress after a man was hit over the head with a wine bottle about 4:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of Van Dyke Court in the Arcata area, according to the first reports coming over the scanner.
The suspect, according to radio traffic from law enforcement, has left the scene on a motorcycle so medical is able to go in without waiting for law enforcement.
UPDATE 4:59 p.m.: According to Samantha Karges, spokesperson for the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office, “We are assisting the Arcata Police Department in searching for an assault suspect, last seen fleeing eastbound on Highway 299 towards Blue Lake on a green Kawasaki motorcycle.”
