Humboldt, Del Norte and Trinity counties, impacted by several wildfires, will see 'good' to 'good to moderate' air quality conditions and no air advisories today, according to a press release from the North Coast Unified Air Quality Management District.
The winds and rain the region experienced yesterday cleared out smoke that has been stuck in low-lying areas of the Red Salmon Complex for nearly two weeks. Smoke has also temporarily cleared from communities near the August Complex. However, smoky conditions are expected to return.
"A drying trend is on the way though so fire activity will increase again and smoke is likely to return later in the week," the release states.
