Fully Engulfed Two-Story Building in Fruitland Ridge

Firefighters responded to a call of an engulfed two-story building in the 500 block of Brown Road in the Fruitland Ridge area near Dyerville Loop Road.

UPDATE 4 p.m.: The fire spread to grass, a nearby tree, and a pickup. However, according to the photographer who sent these photos, firefighters still have it “pretty contained.”

UPDATE 3:53 p.m.: The Incident Commander requested a dozer and said the wildland was threatened. He also requested an additional water tender.

Update 3:27 p.m.: The Incident Commander is requesting two more water tenders and four additional engines.

Previous: According to the first reports over the scanner, this was a gas explosion.

Dispatch is searching for a water tender to send. Many are already committed to working the Elkhorn Fire near the Trinity County line.

Fruitland Ridge Fire and Fortuna Fire are responding.
