Aug. 20, 2020 - Businesses with EOC-Certified Reopening Plans Eligible for Grant Funding
Small businesses with certified Reopening Plans from the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) may be eligible for up to $12,500 in grant funding through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act (CARES) Act.The County of Humboldt Small Business Restart & Recovery Grant (SBRR) programs provide direct support to local businesses that have experienced financial impacts due to COVID-19. The Restart Grant offers up to $500 for expenses related to drafting and submitting a Reopening Plan, and the Recovery Grant provides up to $12,000 for reimbursement of expenses related to COVID-19 response. Both grants require a business to be in compliance with state and local orders and have an EOC-certified Reopening Plan on file before applying.
A Reopening Plan outlines site-specific measures a business will put in place to limit spread of COVID-19 and protect employees, customers and the community at-large. For-profit businesses that were not required to submit a plan, such as dentist offices and other medical facilities, may still do so to qualify for funding. Businesses in sectors that are not yet cleared to open by the state may still be eligible for funding. Contact Economic Development at 707-455-7745 or [email protected] for more information.
