U.S. Highway 101 at Last Chance Grade will be closed overnight June 15 to June 18 from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. to allow Caltrans crews to conduct work on the small but unstable stretch that serves as vital link between the northern reaches of California and the rest of the state.
“Emergency services will be accommodated through the closure, if necessary,” a Facebook post states. “Electronic overhead signs will also be used to notify motorists of the plan.”
The closure will extend from just north of Wilson Creek Bridge to Humboldt Road. There is no detour but traffic will be escorted through the work area every two hours.
