HSU to Suspend Face-to-Face Instruction Until April 17

HSU is suspending all face-to-face instruction and will move to “alternative modes of instruction” after spring break and following a three-day faculty training beginning March 26, but the university will remain open.
“The decision is intended to mitigate the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19), and is based on current guidelines from the CSU system, Office of the Governor, as well as local and state health officials.” the release states. “It was made following consultation and meetings of the academic department Chairs, Deans, Provost and Chair of the University Senate.”
According to the release, alternative modes of instruction include mostly online tools that will be in place until April 17.
The release also states that residence halls, dining, student support services, health, counseling, disability and other related offices will be open and available to students during the three and a half week period.
A social distancing policy is “forthcoming” and will be sent out after spring break.
