FINAL ELECTION NIGHT REPORT:
Incumbent First District Supervisor Rex Bohn has breezed to re-election, taking 65 percent of the votes tallied thus far.
While an unknown number of ballots remain to be counted in the race, Bohn has dominated throughout and now holds a 1,900-vote lead over challenger Cliff Berkowitz, who’s taken 35 percent of the more than 6,200 ballots counted thus far.
THIRD REPORT:
As results continue to trickle in, incumbent Rex Bohn remains well ahead in the First District race for county supervisor against radio personality Cliff Berkowitz.
With just more 2,000 Election Day votes counted, Bohn had 65.3 percent of the votes to Berkowitz’s 34.7 percent. The two candidates are separated by 1,820 votes in the third election report of the evening.
SECOND REPORT:
Incumbent Supervisor Rex Bohn continued to lead in the race against radio personality Cliff Berkowitz to represent the county’s First District seat in the second set of Election Night results.
Bohn has 64.73 percent of the vote to Berkowitz’s 35.27. With just 913 Election Day votes added to the mix, the two candidates are separated by 1,429 votes.
FIRST REPORT:
Initial election results gave Rex Bohn, the two-term incumbent, an early lead in the race for the First District county supervisor seat against radio personality Cliff Berkowitz.
Bohn received 66.84 percent of the vote in the initial tallies, which only include vote-by-mail ballots that arrived at the Humboldt County Elections Office before today and early votes cast at the headquarters prior to Election Day.
He is separated from Berkowitz — who received 33.16 percent of the early results — by 1,326 votes.
This is the first contested race in the sprawling district that stretches from the far reaches of Shelter Cove to the more urban neighborhoods of Cutten since 2012, when Bohn first took the seat after besting Wiyot tribal elder Cheryl A. Seidner and retired teacher Annette De Modena in a three-way contest following the retirement of Jimmy Smith.
