WARNING! Eureka's version of “Carmageddon” is coming to Myrtle Avenue on Monday Oct. 7th - Please plan on using an alternate route beginning on Monday. The planned detour for Myrtle Avenue at Cooper Gulch area will be in full effect on Monday. Due to the size and depth of the new culvert, the construction operation will require the full width of Myrtle Avenue to be excavated. A temporary bypass road around the construction will be in place, but this bypass is NOT paved and traffic will be slow moving. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes, especially during commute times. The detour is expected to be in place 4 to 6 weeks. Thank you for your patience and please contact Eureka Public Works at 441-4203 with any questions or concerns.
