CHP learned that a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck had driven off the road way and crashed into an embankment, with the driver and two passengers — who weren't wearing seatbelts — ejected from the vehicle. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

Their identities are being withheld until the Humboldt County Coroner’s Office notifies their next of kin. The cause of the collision is still unknown but the CHP is continuing its investigation and is asking anyone with additional information to contact the Humboldt Area CHP Office at 822-5981 or send an email to humboldt_area.humboldt_area@chp.ca.gov.
