Editor:
I have to disagree with Mr. Donaldson’s gushing and naive view of NASA’s “wokeness” and the recent ridiculous Artemis II mission (“Woke NASA Is Neat,” April 23). Don’t get me wrong, I think space is cool too. Amazing! But been there and done that … . I can hardly cheer another moonshot when we still cannot even answer even the most basic questions: Why is there “space?” What “function” does it serve? Sure it is great that folks coalesced around this farce, brotherhood and all that. But when people … children … around the world are starving and dying from preventable diseases? When they are being bombed indiscriminately? When our tax dollars go for more bombs and military hardware instead of education and health care? I think we had better get our priorities straight here on Earth before we cruise around the solar system and galaxy, leaving our trash wherever we go.
