State Route 96 is being shut down after four spot fires were discovered burning alongside the roadway about 11:30 a.m., according to the scanner and the California Highway Patrol Traffic Incident Information Page. The spots are near Bull Creek, the dispatcher told emergency personnel.
According to Myles Cochrane, spokesperson for Caltrans District 1, “The closure is from postmiles 20 to 22. No estimated time of reopening for now.”
