Press release from KEET:
As of September 15, 2009, Access Humboldt will no longer broadcast KEET-TV’s second digital channel, KEETWorld on Suddenlink Cable Channel 8. Since October 2008, KEET-TV has been receiving and transmitting the satellite delivery of the KEETWorld to North Coast cable television viewers through a partnership with Access Humboldt. … KEET-TV’s 24/7 news and public affairs programming continues to be available over-the-air with a digital receiver at Digital TV Channel 13-2.
On the bright side, local educational programming — much of it produced by students and teachers at Access Humboldt’s new Community Media Center at Eureka High — will take KEETWorld’s place. If you got hooked on KEETWorld and don’t have a digital receiver, call up Suddenlink and ask ’em to find another spot for it: 877-694-9474.

bummer! sometimes the only good thing on is on Keet World. i may have to cancel suddenlink.
I guess I’m lucky that I will will soon be moving outside of Suddenlink’s service area and getting a dish. When I complained last year about some other missing program, I got one of those cloying form letters petting my hand, soothing my brow—not from local management—but from the corporate marketing department, offering some kind of coupon I didn’t want or need. I’ll miss KEET World too.
It would be nice if Sudden Stink would wake up and realize that this ain’t Texas. KEET World was, as in past tense now, the ONLY thing worth watching/listening to during the day on Stink-O-Vision. It was my daytime Big People Sesame Street.
I notice today that ‘Classic Arts Showcase’ will be moving into the vacated space at Channel 8. I tried to email Suddenlink again—and got only so far before the email feature failed and I couldn’t post my protest.
