With the anchor stores pulling out of the mall and General Growth in bankruptcy, Walmart has a perfect opening to build a store in Eureka. And since the land is already zoned, the city wouldn’t have much to say about it – much like Target was able to build on the Montgomery Ward site.
sky is falling, sky is falling. City had lots to say about it. That how we got that nice 600 foot long section of trail and park along the bay. Wish green wheels would upgrade the existing trail through the rest of Eureka waterfront before running off to build a trail to no where.
the only way Wal-Mart can sneak into that space is if it doesn’t plan on doing any modifications. Modifications would bring it back into the public process.
