Spectators found themselves choking on the dust stirred up by the horses of the Rogue Mounted Archers as the arena action began at the Medieval Festival of Courage. Thankfully, a water truck showed up to settle the dust. -

Julie Vinum, of Blue Lake, waited with her “unicorn,” Gracie, to begin the Blue Lake Saddle Club’s rides for children. It was the first year for the club’s petting zoo and horseback ride fundraiser at the Medieval Festival of Courage. -
Mayhem naturally followed as the Knights of Mayhem began jousting. Remnants of the lance of Charlie Andrews fly after contact with Zach Young’s shield. The lances have soft-wood tips designed to shatter on contact for use in their medieval fair demonstrations and competitions. -
