(Dec. 11, 2008) Editor:
As a friend of Greg Jennings, I am perplexed by a couple of things since his untimely death (“Ghost Bike,” Dec. 4).First, why no “rumble strips” along Highway 101 or 299? Come on Caltrans, what’s it going take?
Second, on my daily commute back to Eureka from work I am amazed at the number of bicyclists riding on the “101 corridor” with small blinking bike lights but dressed completely in dark clothing. If I were a cyclist I would want to be lit up like a Christmas tree driving that stretch of highway. Come on cyclists, what’s it going to take?
