Bengals Call Up Purify

Bengals Call Up Purify: The Cincinnati Bengals have placed wide receiver Mo Purify — a Eureka native — on their roster, following another player’s season-ending injury. Purify had been playing on the Bengals’ practice team.

That means there’s now two Eureka High grads in the Bengals’ lineup — Purify and linebacker Rey Maualuga. The two were teammates for the Loggers. SHARE

I’m very happy for Mo, Rey, and their families. The Bengals have replaced the Raiders as my favorite non-Niners team to follow.

The injured player is Chris Henry, who suffered a broken forearm and is out for the season.

The Bengals, who are contenders this season for the first time in awhile, come to Oakland on Sunday Nov. 22. Tickets to the game should be easy to get, as the Raiders are one of the worst teams in the NFL and aren’t coming close to selling out their games.

At recent Oakland home games, the entire population of Eureka could attend and not fill all the empty seats. Maybe we should organize a trek to see the Cincy game.
