The Bike Month Coalition has packed the calendar with free rides, community events, and friendly competition for cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

Stevie Luther, Bike Month Humboldt Coalition Chair, stated that Bike Month begins with Humboldt Bike Challenge. “Get some extra inspiration by competing with other local cyclists, or challenging yourself to ride your bike a few times this month.”  You can participate for free as an individual, workplace or school.

Bike Month 2026 highlights include mural tours of the Manila Peninsula (May 9) and Eureka (May 13), Grange pancake rides, weekly Arcata-to-Eureka Bay Trail commuter rides every Wednesday through Friday, and the Bike Celebration & Expo at Jefferson Community Center in Eureka on Saturday May 16. The Bike Celebration will feature pedal-powered music, information from community organizations, a bike show featuring fun and rare bicycles, and much more. The month closes with the Humboldt Trails Summit and a Bay Trail social ride on May 31.

All are welcome and no experience is required. For the full event calendar and to register for the Bike Challenge, visit www.BikeMonthHumboldt.org.
