Sixteen-year-old Forrest Ziganti of Garberville has earned a coveted spot at the 45th annual Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, presented by Amsoil, at the legendary Loretta Lynn Ranch in Hurricane Mills, Tennessee. Widely recognized as one of the nation’s premier amateur motocross championships, the event brings together the country’s top amateur riders after months of qualifying competition.
This marks Ziganti’s third overall qualification for the National Championship and his first time qualifying in the highly competitive 250 B Limited and 450 B Limited classes after advancing from the smaller bike divisions he competed in during his previous appearances.
Ziganti earned his invitation to Loretta Lynn’s with an outstanding performance at the Northwest Regional Championship, where he won the 250 B Limited Regional Championship and finished runner-up in the 450 B Limited class, securing his place among the nation’s top amateur motocross racers.
A homeschooled student entering his junior year, Ziganti has spent years balancing his education with the demanding schedule of a nationally competitive motocross racer. Together with his family, he has traveled thousands of miles across the United States, training and competing against some of the nation’s best amateur riders while proudly representing Garberville and Humboldt County.
While many teenagers are enjoying their summer break, Ziganti is spending his summer preparing for one of the biggest competitions in amateur motocross. He is currently in Oklahoma making his final preparations before traveling to Hurricane Mills, Tennessee, where he will represent Humboldt County at the Monster Energy AMA Amateur National Motocross Championship, Aug. 3-8.
Ziganti’s journey to the national championship has been made possible through the support of local businesses that have invested in a young athlete from their community. The Ziganti family would like to sincerely thank the following local sponsors for helping make this opportunity possible:
