The Gene Lucas Community Center Playgroup in Fortuna greatly and proudly acknowledges and appreciates the funding from First 5 Humboldt. This generous funding allows the GLC Playgroup to continue through the 2026 year and beyond. With this funding we will be able to purchase more educational items and elite toys, organize field trips, host educational events and provide healthy and nutritious snacks to children 0-5 years old and the family who accompany them.
With the continued support from First 5 Humboldt, First 5 Humboldt will still be visiting the GLC Playgroup monthly to offer helpful services and provide supportive parenting tips; an amazing benefit First 5 Humboldt provides.
The Gene Lucas Community Center Playgroup hosts a free playgroup providing children 0–5 and their caregivers with access to developmental information, helpful resources, and lasting connections. Join us every Monday-Wednesday from 9:30-11:30 at 3000 Newburg Road in Fortuna, California.
