Editor:
Regarding your "Ignorant Little Snots" and "Uppity, Too" titles in recent "Mailbox" columns (Nov. 18, 25), I ask: What kind of "community" newspaper insults its readers when they take the time to voice their concerns in a letter to the editor?
Regardless of what you think about the letters to the Journal, a true community paper allows its members' voices to be heard. What better way to shut down communication than by insulting the writer. Be a man and say you're sorry, Hank Sims.

Sweet Spot: Engle and O'Meara disqualified due to VIP status. Sue Buckley wins a Bon Boniere sundae for sending our favorite letter of the week. (Might be a bit of a hold-up, though, since we're out of gift certificates at the moment.)
