Re: “Genocide and Extortion

I read a post on here that said that this was not a true story. Please tell my great great grandmother and her cousin that it didn't happen. They were there and saved their children as well as 7 others. My great great grandmother was Matilda Spears and her cousin was Nancy. They both were pregnant at the time of the massacre and Matilda lost her baby. My information comes from Nancy's son Billy, one of the children there. My great grandmother, Martha Spear and Billy were step brother and step sister as well as cousins. I am very lucky to be here as my great grandmother was born a year after the massacre. My heart is sad that people still want to pretend it never happened or to change the facts. The fact is... white men went to Indian Island while the men were gone and massacred almost everyone there including children. Guess they were afraid of these innocent little ones they killed.
