This is a special camera-exposure effect from zooming in or out while using a slow shutter speed while looking at the Commercial Fishermen's Wives' lighted "tree" made out of dozens of crab pots. The Christmas tree's star faces out towards Humboldt Bay to welcome home the fishing boats and crew.
