Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
Redwood Region Audubon Society will offer a free guided Women & Girls Birdwatching Walk at the Ma-le’l Dunes Unit of Humboldt Bay National Wildlife Refuge. Leaders Gail Kenny and Denise Seeger will explore the unique (and restored!) dune habitats which host a variety of songbirds along with shorebirds, seabirds, gulls, and raptors including osprey, harriers and kites, and often some surprising characters as well. Join them for a morning of what will likely be exceptional Humboldt birding! For reservations and meeting location, contact Janelle at janelle.choj@gmail.com.
