Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

Winter Arts Faire

When: Dec. 10-11, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. 2016
Price: $5, free to MCC members
Bringing holiday cheer to southern Humboldt for the last 40 years, the annual Winter Arts Faire will once again grace the Mateel Community Center in Redway, on December 10th and 11th. This 2-day family event will feature nearly 50 handmade artisan booths, diverse musical entertainment, children’s storytelling, delectable holiday menu, and a visit from Santa both days from noon-3pm. Scheduled to perform throughout the weekend are: Humboldt Time, Seabury Gould & Evan Morden, Bob Baker, Zecharia Gravender, George Mooney and more to be announced. The Winter Arts Faire supports local creative vendors, handcraft artisans, and non-profit organizations and is one of the best holiday shopping opportunities in Humboldt for one-of-a-kind gifts. There are still a few openings for vending booths. Handcraft vendors should contact Mateel's new vendor coordinator, Michellee Senn to apply at 707-923-3368. Winter Arts Faire will be open from 10am to 6pm both days, and is free to MCC members and kids 12 and under. Mateel memberships will be available at the door for those wishing to take advantage of the free admission offer for this event and other event discounts. For more information call 923-3368 or visit www.mateel.org.
