Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces." COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.

The Humboldt County Library has created a series of online events to help voters to be informed and prepared before voting. The ‘Vote Smarter’ series consists of three online programs that will be presented on Zoom. On Monday, October 5 at 7:00 p.m., the League of Women Voters of Humboldt County present well-researched, unbiased pros and cons of each of this year’s ballot propositions. On Saturday, October 17 at 2:30 p.m., the Humboldt County Elections Office explains how voting will work this year in response to COVID-19, including mail-in voting, ballot drop-off locations, and more. On Tuesday, October 27 at 5:30 p.m., HSU Librarian Garret Purchio shows how voters can find accurate information regarding state and local elections and initiatives. The sign-up sheet for these programs can be found at https://forms.gle/47x5tyLVGiPV7oy97, or on the Library’s website. You can sign up for a single workshop, or all three. Once you sign up, the Library will email you the Zoom meeting information, including a link to the event and the password. If you have any trouble using the form or have questions about this program, contact the Library via the Facebook page at HumCoLibraryEureka, the website at www.humlib.org, or phone at 707-269-1915.
