Heads up, Humboldt:
While the county's masking mandate has been lifted, Public Health is still strongly recommending masking indoors in public, social distancing and "avoiding crowds and poorly ventilated spaces."
COVID-19 is still with us, so be sure to check the protocols at event venues.
The Christmas themed run consists of a 1 mi run/walk and a 5K run that begins and ends at the Arcata Plaza. The run starts at 10:00 a.m. and is complete by 11:30 a.m. The race starts and finishes at the corner of 9th and G Streets.
The course is on roads and some roads will still be open to vehicles. Runners must stay off of sidewalks and be alert for cars. Bikes, dogs, skateboards, and scooters will not be allowed.
Make sure and wear your ugliest holiday sweater. Prizes will be given for the “Ugliest Sweaters.” If you don’t have an ugly sweater you can make your own at our packet pick-up locations for a donation. You must bring your own sweater or shirt.
Packet pick-up will be located on the Arcata Plaza during Arcata Main Street’s Season of Wonder and Light Celebration. We will be available December 2nd from 4pm to 7pm. Santa will be making an appearance at 6pm. You can also register or pick-up your packet at the starting line the morning of the race from 8:30am to 9:30am.
