The Clarke Historical Museum welcomes Lori Dengler and Amy Uyeki with a reading of the book The Extraordinary Voyage of Kamome. This bilingual children’s book tells the true story of a small boat swept away by the March 2011 Japan tsunami that was found two years later in Crescent City. Dengler will read the book in English and play excerpts of co-author Amya Miller reading in Japanese. Uyeki’s wood-block inspired illustrations will be on display. Following the reading, Dengler and Uyeki will answer questions and sign copies of the book.
